Generous staff from Office Depot Europe have donated stationery and supplies to support children at an impoverished school in Zimbabwe.
We donated 30 stationery packs to Chezhou Primary school, in Hwange, Zimbabwe, which will help the school’s 348 children.
Each pack contains pens, markers, tape, post it notes, notebook and a correction roller.
The school’s infrastructure is funded by the state, but salaries for the 11 teachers and supplies are paid for by the Hide Community Trust (HCT), a community charity.
Clare Robbie, manager of HCT, said: “This school is very rural but I was still surprised by the fees that the parents have to pay to send them. There is so much we can do and your donations go such a long way, particularly in the communities that we work in where the households are very poor.”
The donation was made after one of our customers visited the school and saw the conditions in which the children were having to work. He then approached Office Depot Europe to see if we could help.
